TRIVIA: Bruce Willis played an outcast agent in what 1998 thriller? ROG'S VIEWPOINT ![]() ![]() ![]()
(4 CAMS) RATED PG-13
Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) and a small group of fellow retired black-ops agents are targeted for assassination. Moses, Joe (Morgan Freeman), Marvin (John Malkovich) and Victoria (Helen Mirren) team up one more time in order to survive. "RED" is an enjoyable fast-paced action comedy that manages to inject some serious moments without upsetting the flow. Bruce Willis is in top hero form and believable as being retired and extremely dangerous. The rest of the cast members appear to be having fun in this baby boomer delight. John Malkovich horses around here more than he did in "Secretariat". Mary-Louise Parker is a scene-stealer as Sarah, Frank's love interest who gets caught up in the chase and Karl Urban is the formidable agent who's tracking them down. Adding to the star power are Richard Dreyfuss, Ernest Borgnine and Brian Cox. Based on a graphic novel, director Robert Schwentke ("The Time Traveler's Wife") delivers a visually explosive film that leaves little time to catch your breath. Creating a desire for another movie about these colorful characters, "RED" could easily develop a die-hard fan base.
