TRIVIA: Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz co-starred in what 2001 movie? ROG'S VIEWPOINT ![]() ![]() ![]()
(4 CAMS) RATED PG-13The everyday life of June Havens (Cameron Diaz) turns exciting and dangerous when she meets spy Roy Miller (Tom Cruise). A global chase begins as June must decide whether Roy is a betrayed good guy or a psychopathic killer on the loose. "Knight And Day" is a non-stop joy ride. This popcorn movie is packed with enough thrills and exotic scenery to resemble a James Bond epic. There are gaping plot holes, but director James Mangold ("Walk The Line") leaves little time to dwell on the shortcomings. With shooting locations ranging from Austria to Jamaica, it looks like a lot of money up on the screen. The movie's major asset is the charismatic Tom Cruise, an incredible actor who'll have you believing he is both hero and villain - not an easy task. Cameron Diaz does make a formidable heroine, providing eye candy and a few "Charlie's Angels" moves. The supporting players get very little to do. Peter Sarsgaard is fine as a rival secret agent and Viola Davis is good as the agency director. Paul Dano carries a scene or two as the inventor of a "super battery", who may or may not be under Miller's protection. But it's the star who shines in the spotlight. The exciting "Knight And Day" is a blast that stays in Cruise control.
