MEGAMIND

MEGAMINDSupervillain Megamind (the voice of Will Ferrell) finds life boring without his nemesis Metro Man (Brad Pitt) in this animated feature.

TRIVIA: Will Ferrell starred as the voice of Ted in what 2006 animated feature?

ROG'S VIEWPOINT
cameracameracamera    (3 CAMS)        RATED PG

When supervillain Megamind (the voice of Will Ferrell) finally defeats nemesis Metro Man (Brad Pitt), conquering Metro City becomes boring and pointless. Needing a new hero to rescue damsel television reporter/romantic prospect Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey) from his clutches, the villainous mastermind turns her cameraman Hal (Jonah Hill) into Tighten - who would rather use his powers to wreak havoc on the city. Now the evil genius himself may have to save the day. "Megamind" is a comical and likeable romp that falls somewhere between "The Incredibles" and "Despicable Me". Included is a despicably lovable minion named Minion (David Cross). A good story featuring plenty of slapstick humor makes this film worthwhile for young and old alike. Director Tom McGrath ("Madagascar"), with help from the vocal Will Ferrell and writers Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons, creates a multi-dimensional, sympathetic lead character - even without the 3D process. The layered 3D is impressive, especially when objects extend out into the audience. But the added depth isn't necessary to enjoy this movie. Falling short of a mind-blowing experience, "Megamind" is still fine family entertainment that doesn't require deep thinking.
